- Scol谩ireacht Iarch茅ime sa Ghaeilge agus i nDl铆 na hEorpa
深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork is offering a scholarship for postgraduate students applying to the MA in Irish Language and European Law (CKD49). This scholarship covers full EU-level fees for up to two students for the duration of the programme, supporting individuals who are passionate about both Irish language and European legal systems.
The MA in Irish Language and European Law at UCC is a unique opportunity for law graduates with strong Irish to deepen their legal knowledge while achieving advanced fluency in the language. Designed for those who鈥檝e studied law and have a high standard of Irish - either from second level or university - the course combines academic rigour with cultural immersion, including a week in the Waterford Gaeltacht.
Graduates emerge with skills at the intersection of law and language which are in high demand for careers in public policy, EU institutions, and beyond.
Dr Feena T贸ib铆n, coordinator of the MA in Irish Language and European Law, encourages students from diverse backgrounds to consider applying: 鈥淭his MA is a rare and valuable opportunity. It combines advanced legal training with a strong focus on Irish language fluency, all within a dynamic and supportive learning environment. Students become part of a living, vibrant Irish language community that shapes both their personal and professional growth.鈥
D煤irt Ava N铆 Loingsigh, c茅im铆 MA sa Ghaeilge agus i nDl铆 na hEorpa:
鈥淭hug an MA sa Ghaeilge agus i nDl铆 na hEorpa deis dom cur le mo chuid scileanna acad煤la chomh maith le p谩irt a glacadh i saol na Gaeilge san ollscoil. Is l茅ir go bhfuil an Ghaeilge beo i mion-Ghaeltacht Chol谩iste na hOllscoile Corcaigh. Idir An Chuallacht, Roinn na Nua-Ghaeilge agus an post a bh铆 agam le hIonad na gCuairteoir铆 ar an gcampus, bh铆 m茅 in ann n铆os m贸 Gaeilge n谩 B茅arla a labhairt gach seachtain.鈥疶谩 r茅imse leathan mod煤l ar f谩il ar an gc煤rsa seo. Bh铆 an deis agam staid茅ar a dh茅anamh ar Dhl铆 na na dTeifeach, ar an mBeartas Ioma铆ochta agus scr铆obh m茅 mion-tr谩chtas ar Dhl铆 na Maoine Intleacht煤la. Thaitin an tr茅imhse a chaitheamar i nGaeltacht na Rinne go m贸r liom freisin - bh铆 gach duine chomh c谩irdi煤il linn. Thug an c煤rsa an deis dom feabhas a chur ar chruinneas agus l铆ofacht mo chuid Gaeilge f茅in agus t谩im fostaithe go l谩n-aimseartha le h脷dar谩s na Gaeltachta sna Forbacha anois.鈥
Ava N铆 Loingsigh, MA in Irish Language and European Law graduate, said:
鈥淭he MA in Irish and European Law gave me the opportunity to enhance my academic skills and participate in the Irish language community at UCC. It is clear that Irish is alive and well in the small Gaeltacht at 深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork. Between An Chuallacht, the Department of Modern Irish and my job with the Visitors鈥 Centre on campus, I was able to speak more Irish than English every week. There is a wide range of modules available on this course... I am now in full-time post with 脷dar谩s na Gaeltachta, na Forbacha.鈥
