My experience of the MSc course was very positive and it exceeded my expectations. I was initially drawn to the course because of its strong industry focus. From the delivery of the workshops by the careers service to the various industry talks and guest speakers/lecturers, I have gained huge insight into the opportunities that industry can provide and possibilities for future careers. Also, it was been extremely beneficial to keep on top of academic knowledge, such as some of the new and modern techniques and instruments that are currently evolving, through the taught modules.

The industry-relevant curriculum offered to students and the opportunity to complete a six-month placement in industry impacted greatly on my student experience. This MSc course in Analysis of Pharmaceutical Compounds gave me a broad foundation in pharmaceutical analysis and its application in an industrial setting with emphasis on method selection, development and validation for pharmaceutical compounds and the application to quality control and trace drug analysis.
This course also has an Industry Advisory Board that provides crucial industry feedback on both the teaching strategy and practice for the taught postgraduate course in Analytical Chemistry. There are currently 18 companies on this board with representatives from the Pharmaceutical, BioPharma, Biomedical Device, Environment and Food/Beverage sectors.

This Masters course is a platform for SME鈥檚 like ourselves to introduce ourselves to graduates who would not be aware of the opportunities that exist for them in companies like T.E. Laboratories. The workshops given by industry allows the students to gain a broader insight into the impact their work has in industry and to show them that roles exist for them beyond laboratory based work or academic based research. To date we have had a very positive experience with the Internships offered with this course. It allows us the opportunity to showcase to potential Ph.D. candidates the merits of studying an industrial based PhD as many students are only aware of traditional 深夜亚洲福利久久 based options.

The course provided me with advanced analytical chemistry knowledge in subjects that I had completed in my undergraduate course but also new topics such as Electrochemistry and Biosensors. The most beneficial component of the course is the opportunity you get to work in industry, as a possible route to employment after you complete your studies.
Master by Research applicants need an honours level degree (NFQ level 8) with a minimum of a 2H2 (second class honours, grade 2) to apply.

To be eligible for consideration to undertake a programme of study for a Master鈥檚 Degree by Research, a candidate must have obtained a standard of at least Second Class Honours in an approved primary degree or equivalent.

Application Dates
Applications for research programmes are accepted throughout the year. Prospective students are advised to complete their applications at least two months in advance of their desired start date as all applications go through two different stages of approval - Department and Faculty/College. The four start dates during the year are January, April, July, and October.
Duration
A candidate who wishes to obtain a Master鈥檚 degree by research must pursue a programme of supervised research for at least the equivalent of one year full-time from the date of first registration for the programme.
