School of Clinical Therapies presents Inaugural Award to Caoimhe McGovern

The School - in conjunction with the College of Medicine and Health, EDI Steering Group - was delighted to present its inaugural International Women鈥檚 Day Appreciation Award to Caoimhe McGovern, Chair of the Clinical Therapies Society.

Caoimhe received the award from Dr Ciara O鈥橳oole, Chair of the School鈥檚 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, surrounded by fellow members of the Clinical Therapies Society committee who have worked alongside her over the past two years.

A transformative leadership

Since taking on the role of Chair, Caoimhe's leadership has reinvigorated the Clinical Therapies Society, strengthening connections across student groups and fostering a deep sense of wellbeing and belonging within the School. Under her guidance, the committee has organised impactful advocacy and fundraising initiatives aligned with key 深夜亚洲福利久久 campaigns, including Developmental Language Disorder Awareness Day; World Down Syndrome Day, and Aphasia Home Caf茅.

Through these efforts, Caoimhe and her committee have created meaningful change by raising awareness of important causes and building a more inclusive and connected student experience.

Embodying the 2026 IWD theme: Give to Gain

This year鈥檚 International Women鈥檚 Day theme, Give to Gain, celebrated the power of sharing time, enthusiasm, mentoring and support to uplift others, values that Caoimhe has embodied throughout her tenure. Her commitment to mentoring fellow students and her tireless work behind the scenes have left a lasting impact on the Clinical Therapies community.
