The awards recognise undergraduate and postgraduate students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement or made an outstanding contribution to their peers and the wider Department. Recipients are nominated by department staff, with the final selections announced at the beginning of the academic year. Each student may receive the distinction only once during their studies.

This year鈥檚 awardees are Yonghong Chen, Aoife Imray, Caitlynn Houlihan, and James Fleming.

The medals were presented at last night鈥檚 School of English & Digital Humanities annual Welcome Event by Dr Shawn Day, Head of Digital Humanities, and Professor Stephen Graham, Head of the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences. The event was formally opened by Dr 脫rla Murphy, Head of School of English & Digital Humanities.

The Department鈥檚 Awards for Excellence highlight the creativity, collaboration, and scholarly excellence that define UCC鈥檚 Digital Humanities community.
