The book, which includes UCC's Dr James O'Sullivan and Dr 脫rla Murphy among its editors, collects a range of perspectives on the current state and future of digital editing and publishing, in an effort to further that dialogue and encourage continued exploration of how we make and share knowledge and meaning in the digital age. It calls for deeper methodological dialogue about the potential of digital editions beyond mere digital replication of print forms, particularly focusing on enhancing textual fluidity and computational analysis.

The book includes diverse perspectives addressing often-overlooked areas such as queer methodologies in editing, accessibility concerns, the implications of artificial intelligence on editorial practice, and the management of scholarly data editions. Through contributions from experts across the digital humanities, communication studies, and literary scholarship, the collection critically examines existing infrastructures, proposes global and inclusive editorial approaches, and considers the future implications of open access publishing.

The collection emerged out of C21 Editions, an international collaboration between 深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork, the Digital Humanities Institute at the 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Sheffield, and the 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Glasgow.
