PhD Researcher awarded European Commission scholarship to attend CENDARI Summer School
Patricia O Connor will take part in a five-day programme on 'Researching Medieval Culture in a Digital Environment' in Prague
The School of English will be represented at this year鈥檚 CENDARI Summer School by first year Digital Arts and Humanities PhD candidate Patricia O Connor. This year鈥檚 Summer School will be held in the Old Town venue of the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague and will focus on the theme of 鈥淩esearching Medieval Culture in a Digital Environment鈥� from Monday 20th to Friday 24th July. The Summer School seeks to promote the use of digital research methods amongst scholars engaged in medieval studies. The Summer School鈥檚 five day program will demonstrate how research can be enhanced through the use of certain tools such as Abbreviationes, Classical Text Editor and Manuscriptorium. Patricia鈥檚 attendance at CENDARI will be generously supported by a 鈧�300 Travel Bursary that is financed by the European Commission鈥檚 7th Framework Programme for Research.
