All three are graduates of the Diploma’s 2023–24 cohort.
Farmer-owned , which includes well-known brands such as Avonmore, Kilmeaden, MyMilkman.ie and Truly Grass Fed, recently confirmed the election of Ger O’Brien, a dairy farmer from Cappoquin, Co. Waterford, as its new Chairperson. Having joined the Board in 2018 and served as Vice-Chairperson from 2024 to 2025, Mr O’Brien succeeds John G. Murphy following a period of significant transformation and growth for the organisation. Larry Hannon, a dairy farmer from Ballytore, Co. The Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business) was established to support current and aspiring leaders in the agri-food sector by strengthening capabilities in governance, strategy, leadership, risk management and board effectiveness. It is particularly rewarding to see graduates applying these skills at the highest levels of co-operative leadership.
As °Õ¾±°ù±ôá²Ô continues to shape its future strategy on behalf of its members, we wish Ger, Larry and Dan every success in their new roles. Their appointments come at an important time for the co-operative and the wider agri-food industry, where strong governance and strategic leadership will be critical to delivering sustainable growth and value for members.
We hope that their experience on the Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business) programme will continue to support them as they pursue their objectives, guide strategic decision-making, and contribute to the long-term success of °Õ¾±°ù±ôá²Ô and its member farmers.
Everyone at UCC is proud of their achievements and looks forward to following their continued leadership journey!
