Overview

When your research is abstract, complex or technical, how can Storytelling enable you to deliver your message so that it connects with your audience and lands with real impact? This workshop series will examine the relationship of Storytelling to 鈥業nfluencing鈥, and how an understanding of your Audience always comes first. For anyone communicating something complex it is essential to understand - Who is listening and what do they need? Our default can often be to focus our attention on getting the information right, assuming that if we are clear it will be received and understood. At Narativ we turn our focus first to the Audience and how they might be listening. What obstacles and distractions do they have? What perspectives do they bring? And how might our understanding of that shape the way we connect and communicate with them? Storytelling is a fundamental tool to be able to engage your audience and bring your work to life. Of course, Storytelling is just one mode of communication, so it is crucial to understand how it fits with other modes of 鈥榠nfluencing鈥. Data and logic are key in providing evidence-based argument when communicating any form of message. But by employing Storytelling, it allows you to communicate ideas concretely and coherently, bringing them to life in ways which are relatable. And when we can relate to an idea we remember it!

NB: It is advisable that you attend all 3 workshops.
