UCC Innovation has announced the launch of BioPixS, the latest spinout collaboration between IPIC SFI Research Centre, Tyndall National Institute, and UCC Innovation.

BioPixS鈥� vision is to translate cutting-edge research into hi-tech, innovative solutions to impact the BioPhotonics market. Biophotonics is a multidisciplinary research area that focusses on the application of light-based technologies to life sciences and medicine. The BioPixS mission is to create standards in the field of Biophotonics through phantoms that simulate light interaction in scattering media like human tissue. BioPixS鈥� products will reduce the cost and time needed to develop hi-tech biomedical devices in photonics. On a social front, BioPixS鈥� phantoms target to reduce the animals used in preclinical trials by providing parallel solutions and optimise clinical trials, promoting a better world for our future generations.

BioPixS will draw on the science of light to help develop biomedical devices and reduce animal testing in preclinical trials.

深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork (UCC) Innovation and the Irish Photonic Integration Centre (IPIC) have announced the launch of a new spin-out company called BioPixS. The goal of the company is to translate cutting-edge research into 鈥渋nnovative solutions to impact the biophotonics market鈥�.

IPIC is the Science Foundation Ireland research centre for photonics. It is led out of the Tyndall National Institute, a European hub for research in ICT hardware and systems based at UCC.

BioPixS was a participant in the Gateway UCC Sprint accelerator programme and was part of a consortium recently selected for European Commission  for research related to Covid-19. The spin-out is part of the Vascovid project, which is working on a portable platform for assessing microvascular health in Covid-19 patients in intensive care.
