UCC innovations drive impact for Irish industry in 2025

深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork (UCC) has published its 2025 Innovation Impact Report, highlighting a year of strong engagement with Irish industry and significant impact for Irish-owned and Irish-based companies.

95% of UCC technologies licenced in 2025 were to Irish-owned or Irish-based companies, and almost half of those (45%) were small to medium enterprises.

Across 2025, UCC supported Irish enterprise through technology licensing, consultancy, spin鈥憃ut activity and collaborative research. UCC technologies continued to translate into commercial opportunity for Irish enterprise, with companies across the country benefitting from innovation in areas such as healthcare, semiconductors, photonics, microbiome science, and next-generation power electronics. Notable examples include:

• Reivr Fusion, an Irish SME that licensed Tyndall鈥慸eveloped real鈥憈ime hospital equipment tracking technology following a successful collaboration with UCC researchers.

The licensing of APC Microbiome Ireland鈥檚 GABA鈥憄roducing probiotic patent to a major food company, reinforcing Ireland鈥檚 strength in food and health innovation. This year鈥檚 results highlight the impact of our spin鈥憃ut companies such as CergenX, Endurance Semiconductors, Vivid Photonics, ArrayPatch, NeuroBell and PulpoSemi. They are securing public and private investment and translating UCC research into new technologies, jobs and solutions. Their achievements underscore the growing strength of Ireland鈥檚 deep鈥憈ech and medtech sectors - and the role UCC plays in powering that innovation.

Speaking at the opening of Innovation Week in UCC and the launch of the report, , Vice President for Research and Innovation, said: "UCC鈥檚 innovation ecosystem continues to deliver real value for Irish industry - from supporting SMEs developing new technologies to enabling established companies to access world鈥慶lass research."
