UCC School of Law graduates nominated for appointment to Supreme and Circuit Courts

The Hon Ms Justice Marie Baker, nominated for appointment to the Supreme Court, is a UCC BCL graduate and received a UCC Distinguished Alumni Award in 2014. Her Honour Judge Rosemary Horgan, nominated for appointment to the Circuit Court, obtained a BCL, and later an LLB and LLM, from 深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork.

The Hon Ms Justice Baker was appointed to the High Court in January 2014 and elevated to the Court of Appeal in June 2018. She joins The Hon Mr Justice Liam McKechnie as the second UCC Law graduate on the Supreme Court. 

Her Honour Judge Rosemary Horgan was appointed to the District Court in 2011 and appointed as President of the Court in 2012.

The Government has agreed both nominations, and they will now go to President Michael D Higgins to formally make the appointments.
