Biography
Aisling holds a PhD (Vehicular Communication Systems), a Master鈥檚 of Engineering by research (Passive Monitoring of VoIP QoS) undertaken in the at Cork Institute Technology (CIT) and a BSc in Software Development and Computer Networking as well as a number of professional industry certifications.
In 2017 she joined the academic staff in the School of Computer Science in UCC and in the same year she joined the as a Funded Investigator. She is a member of the steering committee for the national JLR-led CAV Ireland consortia. From 2011-2017 she was a member of academic staff in the Department of Computer Science in CIT where she jointly led interdisciplinary research funded from the European Union (F7 ClouDx-i), the , Science Foundation Ireland via the UCC APC amongst others. In 2016 she won a and in 2015 was computing coordinator for an interdisciplinary MSc which won a .
She is a Director at and a CS advocate partaking in a number of related initiatives (founder of the campus week), Dell ASPIRE and
Research Interests
Aisling's research interests are in cooperative communication protocols, systems and network management with applications domains including vehicular networks and IoT.
