PharmSoc鈥檚 Run Club brought students together throughout the academic year, with weekly runs, social connection and student-led organisation at its core.

The following report was submitted by the Pharmacy Society (PharmSoc)

The PharmSoc Run Club has been one of the highlights of the year, bringing together UCC鈥檚 pharmacy students for a mix of movement, community, and a bit of early-morning motivation.  The Run Club was coordinated by PharmSocs resident runner Adam Neary (PharmSoc Events Officer and Run Club Officer for the 2025/2026 academic year).

In semester one, club members met every Wednesday morning at 8 am in  on the Western Road before heading out along the River Lee.

According to Adam 鈥淭here was something special about those mornings, starting the day together, shaking off the midweek slump, and getting a bit of fresh air before lectures. Along the way, we also used the Run Club as a platform to raise awareness for important causes, including breast cancer and , which gave an added sense of purpose to what we were doing. We were also kindly supported by , who provided us with some great goodies along the way.

In semester two, the routine continued, this time meeting in  and running around the Lough. Even in the colder months, the turnout and energy never dropped. If anything, it became even more of a social outlet, a chance to catch up, clear your head, and start the day on a positive note. We were also generously supported by , who provided some lovely goodies for the group.

What made the run club so enjoyable wasn鈥檛 just the running itself, but the sense of community it created. It gave people an easy, welcoming way to get involved, regardless of pace or experience.
