SEFS Inaugural Lecture, Prof Alix McCollam

On Wednesday, 27 March at 5pm, Professor Alix McCollam, School of Physics, UCC will be the next one to take part in the SEFS Inaugural Professorial Lecture Series 2024. 

It will be held in the North Wing Council Room. 

Lecture Title: "Quantum Materials at ultra-low temperatures and high magnetic field" 

Alix's research focuses on discovering and understanding the extraordinary properties of quantum matter arising from the behaviour of strongly interacting electrons. Alix was an undergraduate at Trinity College Dublin and did her PhD in the Cavendish Laboratory at the 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Cambridge. Before moving to School of Physics UCC, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Toronto and was then a member of faculty at Radboud 深夜亚洲福利久久, Nijmegen, as well as a senior staff scientist at the High Field Magnet Laboratory in the Netherlands.
