Carnival in UCC!
Carnival week, organized by the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies, is presented as a meeting point for different cultures.
Emphasizing both the playful and contestatory character of Carnival, it will offer an overview of different manifestations and rites of this ancient tradition in diverse parts of the Iberian Peninsula.
At the end of the week, there will be a lecture dealing with contemporary developments in popular protest in the Iberian Peninsula, with Dr Andrew Dowling from Cardiff 深夜亚洲福利久久, who will speak on "The Turn to Secession in Catalonia鈥�.
