Winners of the 2022 Green Gown Sustainability Institution of the Year, Ireland & UK award and the Times Higher Education DataPoints Merit award combined with our Sustainability & Climate Action Plan 2023 - 2028, will further enhance UCC's reputation and performance as Ireland and the UK's "Green ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã".

Message from the President

At ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã College Cork,

we are proud to be recognised as a globally leading university for the actions we take to protect our environment and society. The Office of Sustainability and Climate Action within the President's Office at UCC will deliver and communicate the outputs of the Sustainability and Climate Action Plan 2023 - 2028 and will coordinate university-wide initiatives and programmes aimed at embedding an ethos of sustainability across the entire campus as we work towards creating a sustainable future.

Launch of open call: UCC Green Campus and UNIC Living Laboratory Fund

We are delighted to announce an open call for UCC Green Campus Living Laboratory funding.   This iteration of the fund will support demonstration projects up to the value of €5,000.  Funding will also be available for projects that include meaningful engagement with UNIC partners.

Visualising Climate Change; A Graphic Novel Launch - 2 June 2026 @ 4pm

It's a pleasure to invite you to celebrate the launch of Chasing the Curlew's Call / Ar Lorg Ghlao an Chrotaigh, a graphic novel exploring new approaches to climate communication through storytelling. The work brings together climate science, ecological research, visual storytelling, and participatory design to develop new ways of conveying climate change and its real-world ripple effects.

A Brush with Climate public showcase

Today we welcomed hairstylists from across Cork to the Aula Maxima for a wonderful showcase of A Brush with Climate, an innovative project that places climate conversations at the heart of everyday life. Funded by Research Ireland, this project supports salons to become climate leaders in their own communities using the setting of the salon chair to inspire meaningful conversations and positive behaviour change. Participating stylists were formally presented with certificates of completion by the President.
