Join us on Earth Day, April 22nd, for a university-wide event dedicated to highlighting and celebrating innovative approaches to embedding sustainability in teaching and learning. Building on our own and UCC’s commitment to sustainability, this showcase will provide a platform for us to share how we are integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and broader sustainability principles and practices into modules, programmes, and other learning experiences

UCC Green Week 2026 brings together a series of events, workshops, and activities focused on sustainability, climate action, and environmental awareness. Starting on Monday, 23 March and taking place throughout the week, the programme offers staff, students, and the wider community opportunities to learn, share ideas, and get involved in practical initiatives that support a more sustainable future. From expert talks and interactive workshops to campus activities and community engagement, Green Week highlights the collective efforts being made to promote environmental responsibility and inspire positive change. The SDSN Ireland Leadership Council met on March 4th at the National ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã of Ireland Offices in Dublin to discuss ongoing initiatives across the network and the broader role of Ireland and Europe in advancing the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs. The meeting was opened by Leadership Council Co-Chairs President John O’Halloran (UCC) and Vice Chancellor Ian Greer (QUB), who welcomed several guests from the global SDSN community, including Professor Jeffrey Sachs, President of the SDSN Association, and Maria Cortes Puch, Vice President of Networks.  Sumaya Mohommed (UCC) and Elizabeth Zion (UCD) represented the student voice in subsequent discussions. The Council also welcomed Vice President Jane Stout (TCD) and Vice President Tasman Crowe (UCD), the Council’s two most recent members.
