Dr Siobhain O鈥橫ahony chaired and spoke at the 3th Congress of the European Pain Federation EFIC庐  accepted symposium -BRAIN-GUT NEUROIMMUNE SIGNALING IN VISCERAL PAIN.

The 13th Congress of the European Pain Federation EFIC庐 was held in Budapest, Hungary from 20-22 September 2023.

The European Pain Federation EFIC is a non-profit organisation representing healthcare professionals in the fields of pain management and pain science. Dr Siobhain O鈥橫ahony chaired and spoke at their accepted symposium -BRAIN-GUT NEUROIMMUNE SIGNALING IN VISCERAL PAIN. She was joined by Dr David Bulmer, 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Cambridge who delivered an extremely insightful overview of neuroimmune mechanisms and novel interventions for visceral pain. Dr Elena Lucarini was represented by Dr Lorenzo Di Cesare Mannelli from the 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Florence who delivered an outstanding talk on their work on inflammatory bowel disease and the mechanistic role of the microbiome. Dr O鈥橫ahony gave an overview of her work in the area of sex-differences in pain disorders and how the microbiome is intertwined.
