Dr Paolo Palmieri on the privacy implications of contact tracing apps
An important tool in containing the current Covid-19 epidemic is contact tracing. Technology can make contact tracing more effective, and many European countries, including Ireland, are developing contact tracing smartphone apps. However, there are privacy concerns around such massive surveillance and monitoring.
RT脡 Brainstorm just published an opinion piece on the privacy implications of contact tracing apps by Dr Paolo Palmieri, a Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Information Technology specialising on cyber security and digital privacy.
