Launch of EUROBORDERWALKS Project at UCC

The EUROBORDERWALKS Research Group

The EUROBRODERWALKS project was officially launched on 18 November in UCC with a series of events. 

EUROBORDERWALKS is a three-year project led by Professor Maggie O'Neill, Director of ISS21 and Collective Social Futures and is funded through the IRC Advanced Laureate Awards programme.  The research team gathered at UCC for the launch which included a welcome event with Professor Cathal O'Connell (Interim Head of CACSSS), a trip along and a well-received keynote talk by Professor Mimi Sheller who presented a paper on migration, mobility justice and borders.

Research Team

The research team include the PI Professor Maggie O鈥橬eill, Dept. Sociology & Criminology, ISS21/CSF and collaborating academics Dr Kre拧imir 沤a啪ar, Dept. Sociology, 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Zagreb; Professor Agnieszka Golczy艅ska-Grondas and Professor Katarzyna Waniek Dept. of Sociology of Culture, Institute of Sociology, Faculty of Economics and Sociology, 深夜亚洲福利久久 of 艁贸d藕, Professor Tomasz Ferenc, Department of Sociology of Art, 深夜亚洲福利久久 of 艁贸d藕, and artists Dr Michael Mcloughlin, 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Limerick, Dr John Perivolaris, and Professor Marek Doma艅ski, Academy of Fine Arts, W艂adys艂aw Strzemi艅ski in 艁贸d藕.

Two postdoctoral researchers, Dr Vladimir Ivanovi膰 and Aleksandra Soba艅ska, joined the team to conduct research on a) the Polish/Ukrainian Border and b) the Bosnia-Herzegovina Border. Conach Gibson-Feinblum is undertaking a PhD project under the supervision of Prof. Maggie O'Neill.
