Invited by the Research Group on Border and Regional Studies as part of the project, Dr. Ivanovi膰 delivered lectures on topics related to the peripheralization of spaces, focusing on how borderlands function within nation-states and the European Union, exploring issues of marginalization, governance, and identity. Additionally, he discussed the urban-rural divide in Central Europe, examining its impact on subjective well-being and regional inequalities.
As part of the Open Lecture Series, Dr. Ivanovi膰 shared with the audience the first results of the project Walking Borders, Risk and Belonging: Advances in Ethno-Mimetic Research in the Making and Re-Making of Three European Borders. The interdisciplinary project "Walking Borders, Risk and Belonging: advances in ethno-mimetic research in the making and re-making of three European borders examines the significance and consequences of three European borders.'' (Croatia/Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland/Ukraine, Northern Ireland/Republic of Ireland) in the context of migration, security, nationalism, and geopoliticalconflicts, particularly in light of the war in Ukraine and Brexit.
