Some familiar UCC Theatre faces at the Cork Midsummer Festival
The Midsummer festival is upon us, with an eclectic and exciting programme spanning until June 23rd. Many UCC Theatre alumni and friends are presenting and contributing to work at the festival this year, including in the following shows.
As the days are getting longer, the Cork city air is filling up with an electric atmosphere鈥he Midsummer festival is upon us, with an eclectic and exciting programme spanning until June 23rd. It鈥檚 great to see so many UCC Theatre alumni and friends presenting and contributing to work at the festival this year, including in the following shows:鈥

鈥溾, created and performed by Will Flanagan, MA TTP graduate, an 鈥淓nergetic new circus and theatre exploring the fantastical but isolated life of a man who has closed himself off from the outside and has built his own world from the discarded scraps of society.鈥 Running in Cork Arts Theatre 20-23 June.

鈥溾, 21-22 June in the Triskel Arts Centre is 鈥淎 series of candid film portraits of eight iconic women in dance in Ireland, directed and choreographed by dance artist Laura Murphy.鈥 Featuring the lighting design work of UCC Theatre BA Graduate Hanan Sheedy and involving UCC Professor of Creative Practices Jools Gilson.
Best wishes also to UCC alumni involved in the following shows: Katriana Foley for 鈥溾, Gavin MacIntee for 鈥溾, Sin茅ad Gallagher for 鈥溾, and Hanan Sheedy for his work in Progress showing of 鈥溾.
We also welcome the shows 鈥溾 and 鈥溾 to the Granary Theatre and send the best wishes to our theatre artist in residence Jody O鈥橬eill and all Theatre UCC grads and staff who are involved in the Midsummer shows 鈥溾 and 鈥淗ome Sweet Home鈥!
Happy festival season to all, here in UCC Theatre we are delighted to see so many alumni and collaborators creating and being part of exciting new work and sharing them with an audience. We aim for all our students to find their creative voice and encourage them to create new and exciting work.
