Teleatherapy Ltd is based in the GatewayUCC Incubation Hub. The company was founded in 2020 by Clare Meskill, a speech and language therapist,  UCC graduate and former UCC IGNITE participant. Teletheraphy is a Speech and Language therapist led software platform that is initially focussing on individuals with Parkinson鈥檚 disease. The platform and its app are designed to empower Parkinson's patients and to help them to engage with their speech therapy.

The GatewayUCC SPRINT Awards took place on Thursday 24th March in the Dr Dora Allman Room at The Hub, UCC. We were delighted to welcome everyone back to an in-person event this year. 

GatewayUCC, part of UCC Innovation, has announced that the companies it has worked with and supported since 2012 have created more than 450 jobs. GatewayUCC supports researcher-led start-up and spin-out companies.

A Start-Up Accelerator for Researcher Spin-Out Campus Companies

GatewayUCC today announced details about Neurobell who are developing a pocket-sized EEG monitor which uses state-of-the-art electronics, artificial intelligence (AI) and signal processing algorithms.

Dr. Alice D鈥橝rcy is Managing Director of STEAM Education. Alice has been involved with STEAM since it was founded in 2014. She manages the company and is also fully involved in the development and training of all STEAM programmes. Her background is in the area of environmental and sustainability science and creative education. 

Cork, 5^th May 2017:  Innovators and entrepreneurs will benefit from a new phase of the SPRINT accelerator, announced today (Friday) by UCC President, Prof Patrick O鈥橲hea at Gateway UCC.

On Friday, 31st of March 2017, UCC President Patrick O Shea met with the GATEWAY UCC Advisory Board.

SPRINT Accelerator 2 Programme kicked off on Monday 20th March with Enterprise Ireland support for 12 researcher led ventures working on commercialising IP from the 深夜亚洲福利久久 and creating businesses that will scale and grow.

SecuRetract, Skellig Surgical鈥檚 first commercial product, has been licensed by UCC. Designed to manipulate organs that obscure and limit the ability to perform keyhole surgery, SecuRetract is UCC鈥檚 latest foray into medtech. Through a new licensing agreement, it is now on the market.

GATEWAY UCC was delighted to play host to 13 International Entrepreneurs who are starting up businesses, all competing for Seed Funding from Enterprise Ireland under the EI Competitive Start Fund (CSF) aimed to support early stage start-ups.  

EU Innovation Commissioner, Carlos Moedas officially opened 深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork鈥檚 flagship innovation building, Western Gateway, in a ceremony which took place on November 4th.

Following the Board Meeting, the Board were given a Presentation by Myriam Cronin, Manager GATEWAY UCC, followed by a tour of the GATEWAY UCC meeting with UCC Spin Out companies  Atlantia Food Trials and Luxcel Biosciences Ltd before being introduced to the suite of UCC Programmes, Centres and Initiatives that engage with industry in the Region and Nationally. These included Technology Transfer; The Health Innovation Hub; Tyndall National Institute; IMERC; EU EXXCEL; Blackstone Charitable Foundation; Food Industry Training Unit and IGNITE.

Exceedence Ltd featured on the Cork Independent newspaper and Business World for the development of an innovative financial modelling and analytics software tool for the renewable energy sector.

GATEWAY UCC is  involved  in the setting up of the NOTwork Hub for Entrepreneurs with Gillian Keating and Ernest Cantillon . Notwork is a new social hub for entrepreneurs and business professionals.

Alimentary Health was spun out of UCC in 1999 on the back of strong intellectual property developed by a team of microbiologists who identified a bacterial strain with potential health benefits. 

The demand for milk globally is expected to rise to 350 billion litres in 2020, and an Irish company based at GATEWAY UCC, the 深夜亚洲福利久久 Business Incubation Centre, is poised to capitalise on this market opportunity.

During the visit the Minister met with a number of GATEWAY UCC High Potential Start-Up Spin-Out companies  and discussed with them the challenges and issues which effect HPSU 深夜亚洲福利久久 Spin-Outs. Minister Nash was particularly interested in what supports could help accelerate the growth of Campus based Spin-Out companies.

Cork, 12 December 2014: Minister for Agriculture, Food, the Marine and Defence Simon Coveney, T.D. announced the creation of more than 80 new jobs in the marine energy sector for Cork Harbour . 

The US ocean energy company, Resolute Marine Limited, will create 80 new jobs over the next 5 years, as it establishes its European headquarters in Cork. Exceedence Ltd, a spin out from UCC鈥檚 Beaufort Research Centre, will create 5 new jobs in the marine renewable energy financial consultancy in 2015, while Resolve Marine, a global salvage company, will create up to 6 jobs in the next 12 months in its European headquarters located in Cork Harbour.

Last year the Irish Government launched a 'Trading Online' voucher scheme, and as of today it has been made available to small businesses in Cork. 

Any business in Ireland or overseas that鈥檚 currently in operation is welcome to apply. However, from experience we know the type and size of company that can benefit most from our Accelerator programme.  These are usually businesses that have been operating for typically for 18 to 30 months, have between two and eight employees and have a clearly identified customer group.

Yesterday, March 28, 2014, the Minister for Research and Innovation, Mr Se谩n Sherlock, T.D., announced a new 鈧�200,000 Enterprise Ireland fund to help entrepreneurs in Cork explore the feasibility of their start-up ideas.

A new probiotic bacterial strain and an industrial fault finder have won Invention of the Year awards in the areas of bioscience and ICT, respectively, at gatewayUCC in Cork...
