Munawar Abbas
Biography
Munawar received his bachelor鈥檚 (2015) and master鈥檚 (2017) in food science and nutrition from Government College 深夜亚洲福利久久 Faisalabad (GCUF), Pakistan. He won the prestigious 鈥淚nternational Research Studentship Award鈥 for his PhD at the 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Reading, UK where he used a piglet model to study the impact of different iron supplements on gut microbiota and metabolism and was awarded the PhD in 2023.
Munawar, after his PhD, joined Tangney lab as a Marie Curie Fellow. Munawar鈥檚 research focuses on innovative advances in cancer treatment by harnessing bacteria as protein bio-factories to exploit immunotherapy. His approach aims to revolutionize cancer therapy by precisely targeting malignant cells, offering potential breakthroughs in the fight against cancer.
