'Celebrate your Autism' Exhibition 2nd April 2014
The Jennings Gallery at the College of Medicine and Health, Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, UCC is delighted to host a very special children鈥檚 art exhibition on Wednesday, 2nd April, 2014.
The exhibition, 鈥楥elebrate Your Autism鈥� is organized by the Regional Autism Team for Cork and Kerry as part of International Autism Awareness Day and highlights the creative talents of children on the autism spectrum. The exhibition is the result of five workshops facilitated by local professional artists, as well as pieces created by children independently and in clubs and schools across Cork city. The project is co-ordinated by Maria Gleeson, Speech and Language Therapist (Regional Autism Team) and artist Conall Cary.
The exhibition will be officially opened by Cllr. Catherine Clancy, Lord Mayor of Cork City on Wednesday, 2nd of April at 5.30pm in the Jennings Gallery.
In addition to the exhibition, buildings and businesses in Cork City will 鈥渓ight up blue鈥� for International Autism Awareness Day and Anglesea Street Fire Station and Garda Station will hold a display of fire trucks, bikes and cars. There will also be a children鈥檚 party in the Market Tavern with music and treats!
Visitors are welcome to view the exhibition at the Jennings Gallery, College of Medicine and Health 2nd- 25th April, 2014 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday.
