Biochemical Society, The Young Life Scientist (YLS) Symposia:

Time: 08:00-18:05

Venue: Room 107, Western Gateway Building, Western Road, 深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork.

The Young Life Scientist (YLS) Symposia are organized by young life scientists for young life scientists, and allow junior and senior students as well as post-docs, to extend their academic, presentation, networking and communication skills. The unique format provides a chance to gain valuable experience in giving formal talks to a peer audience.

This year, in collaboration with the Irish Area Section of the Biochemistry Society, the 'Young Life Scientist Symposium - Cell Signalling' will be held in 深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork on 11^th September. Registration is free and abstracts are invited from PhD students and early career scientists in the biochemical sciences.

NeuroSKILL Workshop 鈥淣euroimaging: Clinical and Research Applications to Normal Ageing and Alzheimer鈥檚 Disease鈥�

Venue: Room G06, Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, College Road, 深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork

Hosted by NeuroSKILL (), this study day is targeted at students, Post-Doctoral Fellows, medical doctors, radiographers, researchers and other healthcare professionals interested in the area of neuroimaging in Alzheimer鈥檚 Disease. Approved for 6 CPD credits by the Faculty of Radiologists, RCSI.

Learning Outcomes:

路 an understanding of MRI in terms of physical principles;

路 knowledge about the latest neuroimaging results on normal ageing and Alzheimer鈥檚 disease;

路 an understanding of the role of advanced MR techniques such as DTI, fMRI and MRS in Alzheimer鈥檚 disease;

路 an understanding of the future techniques to be used in diagnosis;

路 insight into Alzheimer鈥檚 Disease and dementia in terms of the disease process, prevalence and living with disease;
