Undergraduate Success at the NUI Dr H.H. Stewart Medical Scholarships & Prizes 2021
The Dr Henry Hutchinson Stewart Literary and Medical Scholarships and Prizes are among the oldest awards to be offered for competition by the NUI. First established in 1888 following a bequest from the estate of Dr Henry Hutchinson Stewart, these awards were initially made by the Royal 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Ireland until its dissolution in 1908 and were then continued by the NUI. UCC鈥檚 School of Nursing and Midwifery has had a remarkable record of success in the Dr H.H. Stewart Medical Scholarships and Prizes over many years. 2021 was no exception with Tamara Horan awarded third prize in the Dr H.H. Stewart Medical Scholarship in Midwifery, Jessica Dempsey awarded a Scholarship in Children鈥檚 Nursing, and Frances O鈥橲ullivan awarded second prize in the Dr H.H. Stewart Medical Scholarship in Children鈥檚 Nursing. Congratulations to the students and their mentors.

Jessica Dempsey (1st Prize)
鈥淚 am honoured to have been nominated for and subsequently awarded the Dr HH Stewart Medical Scholarship in Children鈥檚 Nursing for my final year research regarding music therapy in the pain management of infants. I鈥檓 grateful for the support of my family, friends and relevant staff throughout my final year and research project鈥
Frances O鈥橲ullivan (2nd Prize)

鈥淚t is an honour to be recognised for the hard work I put in to my research project over the last two years. It is a topic that I feel passionate about and to be rewarded for this is endlessly gratifying鈥
