BSc Clinical Commencement Ceremony 2024

Celebrating a very important milestone in their student journey ahead of their first clinical placement.

Year 1 BSc Nursing and Midwifery students in the School of Nursing and Midwifery in UCC recently attended a Clinical Commencement Ceremony to celebrate a very important milestone in their student journey ahead of their first clinical placement. At the ceremony, students were reminded that being a student nurse or student midwife comes with a responsibility to exemplify professionalism and a commitment to caring.

Keynote address for the Midwifery Ceremony was given by Dr Rhona O' Connell. This November and December, BSc Midwifery Year 1 students are commencing their first clinical placements in the Ireland South Women and Infants Directorate sites including Cork 深夜亚洲福利久久 Maternity Hospital, Tipperary 深夜亚洲福利久久 Hospital, 深夜亚洲福利久久 Hospital Waterford, and Kerry 深夜亚洲福利久久 Hospital.

Ms Martina Hughes, Assistant Director of Nursing at the Mercy 深夜亚洲福利久久 Hospital gave the keynote address at the Nursing Ceremony on behalf of Health Care Partners. This November and December BSc Year 1 Nursing students across the four undergraduate  programmes (General Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Intellectual Disability Nursing and Children鈥檚 and General Integrated Nursing)  are commencing their first clinical placements across the Munster region, including at the Mercy 深夜亚洲福利久久 Hospital, Bons Secours Hospital, Cope Foundation,  Mental Health Services, South Infirmary Victoria 深夜亚洲福利久久 Hospital, Cork 深夜亚洲福利久久 Hospital, Mallow General Hospital as well as community and older adult services across Munster.
