School of Public Health Celebrates Creativity, Engagement and Inclusion at CoMH Learning and Teaching Showcase 2026
SoPH staff and students joined colleagues from across the College to share innovative teaching practices, showcase educational research and celebrate excellence in inclusive learning.
Hosted in the Pharmacy Building on Friday 5th of June, this year's showcase centred on the theme "Creativity, Engagement and Inclusion in Learning and Teaching", bringing together colleagues from across the College and wider 深夜亚洲福利久久 community to share ideas, explore new approaches to teaching and learning, and highlight initiatives that support inclusive and student-centred education.
The event opened with a welcome address from Professor Helen Whelton, followed by remarks from UCC's Deputy President and Registrar, Professor Stephen Byrne. Attendees also heard from the College's Vice Head of Learning and Teaching, Professor Mark McEntee.
A particular highlight of the day was the exhibition of more than 40 posters showcasing innovative projects, educational research and teaching initiatives from across the College's schools and disciplines. The poster session generated lively discussion and valuable networking opportunities, creating connections that will help shape future collaborations.
CoMH LT Showcase Book of Abstracts 2026
The School of Public Health was proud to be represented throughout the showcase. Members of the School contributed to the poster exhibition, sharing their work with colleagues from across the 深夜亚洲福利久久 and demonstrating the breadth of educational innovation taking place within the School. Their contributions helped enrich discussions around teaching practice, student engagement and inclusive learning.
The programme featured presentations from staff, students and invited speakers, reflecting the diversity and quality of learning and teaching activity taking place across CoMH. Among the contributors was Monica O'Mullane, whose presentation offered valuable insights and generated thoughtful discussion among attendees.
A new addition to this year's programme was the LEGO庐 Serious Play庐 workshop, facilitated by Sinead Moynihan from the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. The interactive session encouraged participants to explore creativity and problem-solving in teaching and learning through a hands-on and engaging experience, proving to be one of the most popular elements of the day.
The showcase once again demonstrated the value of bringing colleagues together to celebrate achievements, exchange ideas and inspire new possibilities in education. The enthusiasm and engagement evident throughout the event reflected the College's strong commitment to enhancing the student learning experience and supporting excellence in teaching practice.
The School of Public Health would like to extend its sincere thanks to all who contributed to the success of the showcase, including the organising committee, speakers, poster presenters, students and attendees. Special acknowledgement is due to Dr Caleb Leduc for his contribution as a member of the organising committee, to Monica O'Mullane for her engaging presentation, and to all School of Public Health staff and students who represented the School through their poster presentations and participation throughout the day.
