深夜亚洲福利久久 College Cork and the International Office were delighted to welcome Dr Richard Ice, Provost of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John鈥檚 深夜亚洲福利久久 and Dr Kevin Clancy, Director of the Center for Global Education (CGE) to UCC on Thursday, 19 January, to celebrate 25 years of the academic partnership between our institutions. Since the establishment of the partnership in 1997, 426 students from the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John鈥檚 深夜亚洲福利久久 have studied at UCC, including the thirteen who are currently enrolled for the spring semester 2023.

To mark the 25th anniversary, the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John鈥檚 深夜亚洲福利久久 have very kindly loaned the Gospel & Acts volume of The Saint John鈥檚 Bible Heritage Edition to UCC. President John O鈥橦alloran formally accepted the volume on behalf of UCC at an event held in the O鈥橰ahilly Building on 19 January. It will be on display until 31 March and a programme of events organised by the International Office, in conjunction with the Boole Library, is currently being finalised. The programme will conclude with a lecture in early April by Rev. Dr John F. Ross, Executive Director The Saint John鈥檚 Bible Heritage Programme.

The Saint John's Bible contains some 160 illuminations across its seven volumes. There is a great variety of images utilized in the bible. Some of these are drawn from ancient and medieval Christian art, such as fish and trees, while others are more modern: a double helix DNA strand, Buddhist mandalas, and the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in New York City. The bible has been described as America鈥檚 Book of Kells. The creators of The Saint John's Bible used a mixture of modern technology (computers used to plan the layout of the Bible and line-breaks for the text) and older techniques used in the creation of ancient  (handwritten with turkey, goose, and swan quills on  ; gold and platinum leaf and hand-ground ; Chinese stick ink).
