St Vincent鈥檚 National School Pupils at The Unveiling of Their First Ever Team Kit

Cork Camogie captain Amy O鈥機onnor returned to her alma mater, St. Vincent鈥檚 National School, to unveil the school鈥檚 brand-new sports kit. This marks the first sports kit that the school has owned, and the initiative was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Access UCC. St. Vincent鈥檚 National School, which is linked to the Access service, expressed their gratitude to the sponsor and their excitement about participating in upcoming soccer, Sciath na Sc贸l football, and camogie competitions.

Head of Access Olive Byrne expressed her delight at seeing the pupils donning the new kit, saying, 鈥淎ccess UCC is thrilled to support the renewed focus on sport in St. Vincent鈥檚, and we are honored to have our logo on the school鈥檚 new kit. The logo symbolizes the open and welcoming door in UCC for all students.鈥�

This year is a milestone for St. Vincent鈥檚 National School, as it marks the first time the school is able to participate in team sport competitions. The acquisition of the new sports kit holds significant meaning for the school and its students, as it represents a step forward in their sporting endeavors. During a full assembly, Principal Niamh O鈥橲ullivan expressed gratitude to Access UCC for their support and highlighted the longstanding relationship between UCC and St. Vincent鈥檚, emphasizing the available support for students who aspire to follow in Amy鈥檚 footsteps and pursue their studies at UCC.

Following the unveiling of the kit, Amy O鈥機onnor took the opportunity to share some advice with the current pupils of St. Vincent鈥檚. She encouraged them to embrace sports as a fantastic way to get involved and emphasized the importance of inclusivity, urging them to ensure that everyone is included when they play.

In a show of her commitment to the team, Amy stayed on the premises and led the students through a few training drills in the schoolyard. In preparation for their upcoming competitions, the team is planning a visit to UCC鈥檚 Mardyke complex for further training, where they will have the opportunity to refine their skills and enhance their teamwork.
