UCC hosts Microsoft鈥檚 Director of Accessibility Hector Minto

This week, we were honoured to welcome Hector Minto, Microsoft鈥檚 Director of Accessibility, to UCC to explore how we can all work together to create a better future through accessibility and inclusion.

Hector Minto has worked at the cutting edge of Assistive Technology (AT) for 25 years. Hector鈥檚 role at Microsoft sees him engaging across governments, organisations and stakeholders to showcase product accessibility, inclusive design, the inclusive hiring programmes and accessibility innovation from Microsoft Research.

While visiting UCC, Hector met with teams from the Deputy President and Registrar鈥檚 office, Access UCC and IT Services to explore how we can continue to adapt to the changing needs of UCC鈥檚 diverse students and staff community. More than 100 colleagues attended Hector鈥檚 presentation on 'Inclusive by Design: The Future of Learning in Universities'. Hector offered valuable insights on the importance of delivering accessible experiences and building a culture that asks for and strives for accessibility for all.
