UCC Societies success at BICS National Awards 2023

UCC Societies have had another successful year at the National Society Awards bringing home a further four major awards to our campus. 400 students from across Ireland attended the National Awards in the Clayton Whites Hotel in Wexford.

The National Awards are an opportunity for student societies to showcase their numerous achievements from the previous year. The purpose of the awards is to recognise the huge effort made by the many individuals who run student societies across Ireland. A stringent process which involves application forms portfolios, interviews and peer-to-peer sessions our societies have excelled on a national level with 26 awards making their way back to campus in the past 5 years alone.

The winner's were:

 - Best New Society- UCC Neurodiversity  Society  

 - Best Society in a Charity/ Civic Field- UCC Surgeon Noonan Society

 - Best Green Initiative- UCC Enactus Society (Sustainable Community Market)

 - Best Society in a Cultural/ Academic and Social Field- UCC Government and Politics Society

UCC Fashion society sub committee Stil won best society publication at the Smedias awards. The Smedias are the national student media awards and were held in the Aviva  Stadium in April.
