Global Virus Network Forefront of Virology Webinar featuring Dr. Hongshuo Song
The UCCRSA is happy to share with you that the Global Virus Network, in partnership with the 深夜亚洲福利久久 of South Florida, presents a webinar series featuring expert virologists from GVN Centers of Excellence. This session features Dr. Hongshuo Song is an Associate Professor at the 深夜亚洲福利久久 of South Florida. The research in her lab focuses on the fundamental aspects of HIV molecular virology, transmissibility, and immunopathogenesis. She will discuss "Escape by Shifting: Viral entry pathway alteration as an evolutionary mechanism of immune evasion." The webinar includes a 30-40 minute presentation followed by a 20-minute Q&A.

She holds a medical degree and a Ph.D. from Peking 深夜亚洲福利久久. Following her education, she completed a postdoctoral associate position at Duke 深夜亚洲福利久久 Medical Center.
Dr. Song's career includes roles as a Research Fellow at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and a Scientist at the U.S. Military HIV Research Program (MHRP). Her research on HIV has been published in journals like Nature Communications and PNAS. She has been recognized with multiple Young Investigator Awards from organizations such as the Center for HIV/AIDS Vaccine Immunology (CHAVI) and the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI). She also serves as a reviewer for NIH study sections.
