Electrical and Engineering Graduates amongst 9 honoured at the 2024 Alumni Achievement awards.

Nine alumni were honoured at the 2024 Alumni Achievement Awards in the iconic Aula Maxima, UCC.  Two are graduates of Electrical and Electrical Engineering; Michael Guinee and Dr Linda Doyle.

The awards are made in recognition of their exceptional achievements since graduation. The awardees included:

  • Dr Pamela Byrne (BSc 1994; PhD 2000), Chief Executive for the Food Safety Authority of Ireland
  • Trinity College Dublin Provost Dr Linda Doyle (BE 1989)
  • Michael Guinee (BE 1968), Founder and CEO of Ei Electronics
  • UCC Rugby Football Club volunteers Dr Len Harty (MB 1968) and Dr Noel O鈥橫ahony (MB 1965)
  • Dr Naomi Masheti (BA 2007; MA 2008; PhD 2015), Programme Director of the Cork Migrant Centre
  • Businessman and strategic advisor to the university David Merriman (BA 1990; MBA 1993)
  • Award-winning actress and presenter, Siobh谩n McSweeney (BSc 2001)
  • Sustainability and climate expert Ruair铆 O鈥橫ahony (BA 2006; MPlan 2008)
