On Thursday May the 25th, the Crawford Gallery in Cork City was the venue for our most recent Staff Sports and Social Event. Staff from across the college enjoyed a tour of the Cork landmark. This sold out event was a big success and members of the Club thought it was a very enjoyable event. Stay tuned to the website for more events over the summer. 

In February the new Sports and Social Committee were elected along with the Clubs and Society Officers for all of our clubs and societies.

About the Staff Sports and Social Club

This is just a brief reminder that all members of the Sports and Social Club can avail of €5 cinema vouchers, available from the Visitors Centre on the Quad. 

In addition, our monthly raffle is now back, with a €50 All-4-One voucher going to a random member picked from all members of the Sports and Social Club. 

The February winner was Prof John Browne from Epidemiology and Public Health.

The dust has settled, the stage and set have been dismantled, life has returned to normal but for two unforgettable nights, UCC’s most famous space was transformed into an evocative paddle boat steamer setting.

The UCC Staff Tabletop Gaming Club held its first evening session this month to great success. Rude unicorns and flooding islands with snacks and good company, this was the first of more to come.

UCC Players have released a new trailer in the run up to their production of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Nile on 11-12 November in the Aula Max. 

Congratulations to the committee of the UCC LGBT+ Staff Network on the receipt of the Frank McGrath Perpetual Award for Equality and Welfare at the recent UCC Staff Recognition Awards. 

The UCC Staff Athletic Club are back in business for the semester. 

Our new board and tabletop game club has gotten off to a great start with two successful lunchtime sessions since we started.

The UCC Staff Fantasy Football Club was established in August 2001 and is now celebrating its 19^th season. Over the years, the club has gone from strength to strength.

We held our annual Family Sports Day on Saturday, 29 June 2019 in the Mardyke all weather pitch and running track

Don Murray triumphed yet again in our annual bowling night in May. 

On Tuesday the 6th of February, a number of staff members took to the climbing walls in the Mardyke for an evening of climbing. 

Open to any level of climbing experience, it really was great to see so many people from different areas of the college enjoying the fantastic facilities we have at the Mardyke. 

It is hoped to run this event again in the future.
