Celebrating Europe Day 2023

In celebration of Europe Day, May 9th, we asked UNIC colleagues what being part of Europe means to them, and what being part of the UNIC European university alliance means to them.

According to the European Commission, Europe Day is on May 9th every year to mark the signing of the Schuman Declaration on May 9th 1950: a "plan to secure long-term peace in post-war Europe that is considered the beginning of what is now the European Union."

2023 also marks 50 years since Ireland joined the European Union.
