Highlighting supports for pregnancy loss in the workplace at WiMIN 2026

The Theme of the Conference was: 鈥淎re We There Yet?鈥. Session II, called 鈥淔ailure to Progress鈥 featured talks around parenthood, pregnancy, pregnancy loss and infertility and was chaired by Ms Ail铆n Rogers, Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at the Mater Misericordiae 深夜亚洲福利久久 Hospital and an Assistant Professor at 深夜亚洲福利久久 College Dublin. In this session, gave an invited oral presentation on Pregnancy Loss at Work, highlighting key findings from the PLACES Project, ongoing policy and advocacy work, and the free workplace resources available that her Group has developed, including a toolkit for employers and employees. She distributed copies of 鈥榃ords at Work鈥, a collection of texts which illuminates lived experiences of pregnancy loss at work, drawing on direct quotations from the PLACES Project. The resources were very positively received with many highlighting their practical value on a professional and personal level. Professor O鈥橠onoghue is also a collaborator on the project led by Dr Sinead Lydon of the 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Galway, who also addressed the conference in this session.
The (WiMIN) was founded in 2017. The aim of WiMIN is to bring together women from all stages of their medical career, in all specialities and grades, to share their experiences and to learn from each other. WiMIN hopes to advocate and support all women in medicine to help them to achieve their career goals, and to promote leadership and personal fulfilment
