Ireland's Fossil Heritage receives SFI Funding
Ireland's Fossil Heritage based in UCC's School of Biological Earth and Environmental Sciences has received almost 鈧�300,000 in funding from Science Foundation Ireland (SFI)'s Discover Programme to continue bringing fossils to the public for another two years.
The initiative is led by Professor Maria McNamara, and Dr Jess Franklin, School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences, and colleagues. The team is planning lots of new and exciting initiatives to enrich the programme and connect people to Ireland鈥檚 ancient past through our rich fossil heritage.
Ireland鈥檚 Fossil Heritage is a science engagement project funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and the European Research Council (ERC). The project aims to increase awareness of and interest in Irish fossils by offering a diverse range of free resources to the public, including school workshops, a travelling exhibit, science and art collaborations and lots of interactive web content for all ages and backgrounds.
The Science Foundation Ireland Discover Programme aims to empower and inspire deep public engagement with science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM).
