Professor Alix McCollam鈥檚 inaugural professorial lecture took place at UCC on 27 March. Alix's captivating talk delved into the fascinating realm of Quantum Materials at ultra-low temperatures and high magnetic fields.
Professor Alix McCollam is the SALI Professor of Quantum Technology at the School of Physics, UCC. Her research focuses on discovering and understanding the extraordinary properties of quantum matter arising from the behaviour of strongly interacting electrons. Alix's academic journey began as an undergraduate at Trinity College Dublin, where her passion for physics ignited. She then pursued her PhD at the prestigious Cavendish Laboratory, 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Cambridge
Before joining UCC, Alix worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the 深夜亚洲福利久久 of Toronto. Later, she joined the faculty at Radboud 深夜亚洲福利久久, Nijmegen. She also served senior staff scientist at the High Field Magnet Laboratory in the Netherlands.
