id+ futures Project Research and Practice Hub
The id+ futures Project Research and Practice Hub was established as a central resource for anyone interested in research with people with intellectual disabilities, and the application of that research to practice.
The Hub is based on the following core principles:
- Nothing for us without us
- People with intellectual disabilities as experts by experience
- Self-advocacy
- Allyship
The work of the Hub includes, but is not limited to:
- Developing co-learning modules for students with and without intellectual disabilities
- Developing co-research opportunities with people with intellectual disabilities
- Networking staff and students involved in research with people with intellectual disabilities, both nationally and internationally
- Developing and sharing resources on inclusive research in higher education, both nationally and internationally
- Co-design of academic programmes and learning resources for people with intellectual disabilities.

Disability Rights are Human Rights
20 May 2024Happening On 20/05/2024 -
Four of our students took centre stage in welcoming staff from 15 higher education institutions around Ireland to this showcase event, sharing UCC's experiences of co-learning for inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.
We also launched our new online micro-credential training for further & higher education staff who want to learn about the concrete reality of "how to do" inclusive education in a third-level setting.
