Dr Emanuel Popovici has received the 2024 Qualcomm Faculty Award. Dr Popovici is a Senior Lecturer in UCC's School of Engineering and Architecture and director of the Embedded Systems research group.

Four out of five pregnant women in Ireland are iron deficient by their third trimester, a ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã College Cork (UCC) study reveals. Researchers at the Irish Centre for Maternal and Child Health (INFANT) and School of Food and Nutritional Sciences in UCC have shown that over 80% of women are iron deficient by their third trimester.

Stargazers to descend on UCC for largest astronomical conference ever held in Ireland

Stargazers from across the world will descend on Cork next year for will be the largest Astronomical conference ever held in Ireland. The European Astronomical Society (EAS) Meeting, scheduled in UCC for 23-27 June 2025, will inject up to €2.8 million into the local economy with 1,200-1,400 hotel rooms booked across the city.
