ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã

The UNIC Mathematics Summer School 2025 took place at Koç ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã Istanbul on June 22-29, with 16 UCC students participating.

Nine ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã College Cork business master's students took part in an exciting UNIC summer school in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on 29 June - 5 July 2025.

UNIC's first academic conference took place on 6-9 May at the ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã of Malmö, Sweden, robustly addressing themes of urban resilience, sustainability, and the future of post-industrial societies. 

The Academia to Entrepreneurial Impact (A2EI) programme is a practical, hybrid programme designed for PhD and doctoral students who want to know more about innovation or explore the entrepreneurial potential of their research, as part of their career development journey. Whether you are curious about startups, policy work, or just want to sharpen your entrepreneurial mindset, the programme gives you the knowledge and tools to take the first step! 

• MITIME is an interdisciplinary PhD Programme focusing on mobility, migration, and societal transformation.
• ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã College Cork is one of seven UNIC universities and ten civil society partners brought together in this programme consortium.
• Funded by the Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks Call, the programme will recruit 15 PhD students across the consortium, two of whom will be registered at UCC.

Seven colleagues from the Access UCC team recently visited Erasmus ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã Rotterdam (EUR) on an Erasmus+ staff exchange visit. The group was hosted by EUR's IDEA Center, with a packed programme focusing on exchange of good practices in widening participation.

Deirdre Parker, Careers Advisor at ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã College Cork, hosted the UNIC Careers Staff Week on employability in the curriculum at ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã College Cork, 26-28 May. Deirdre reflects on the experience and learnings of the staff week.

Dr JB McCarthy, Vice Dean Internationalisation & External Engagement at Cork ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã Business School, represented ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã College Cork at a recent meeting of faculties of economics and social sciences from across the alliance of universities, 4-6 June 2025.

ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã College Cork's student representatives for UNIC in the academic year 2025/26 are Margarita Linetska and Sadhbh Tierney.
