Dr Daniel Nuzum was an invited keynote speaker at the recent International Partnership for Perinatal Excellence (IPPE) held at Bloomington, Minnesota USA from 18 to 21 June. This meeting had 150 attendees from many parts of the world and focussed on a broad range of areas related to promoting excellence in perinatal bereavement care.

Members of the Pregnancy Loss Research Group attended and presented work from the SPRING project at the 29^th in Galway on 26 June. This year’s conference focused on ‘From Awareness to Action: Advancing Sexual Health Promotion’, with the new published by the the previous day.

The Pregnancy Loss Research Group (PLRG) at ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã College Cork is calling on decision-makers to implement a new model of care for people who experience miscarriage and recurrent miscarriage. This would see people offered appropriate, individualised, timely and accessible care and support, after their first miscarriage as well as for recurrent miscarriage.

Fostering compassionate and supportive workplaces for people who experience pregnancy loss was the focus of a workshop hosted by the Pregnancy Loss Research Group (PLRG) and Mná@UCC on Tuesday, 27 May. The event aimed to provide a forum for UCC staff to hear about recent research in this area and to input into local and national resources for workplaces currently under development.

Dr Caroline Joyce and Dr Aoife Corcoran attended the with other members of the Irish . Held at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Madrid (Spain), the meeting provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with European colleagues and foster collaborative research projects.

The (INHED) Annual Scientific Meeting 2025 “Embracing the Future of Health Professions' Education” was hosted at ÉîÒ¹ÑÇÖÞ¸£Àû¾Ã¾Ã College Cork on 22 and 23 May. It was a wonderful opportunity for the Pregnancy Loss Research Group to share our research and connect with a range of people involved in the field of health professions education, including medical education professionals, clinicians and experts by experience.

The (BMFMS) Annual Conference 2025 was held at the in Belfast on 08-09 May. 

Last night, an event was held in St Angela’s College, Cork to mark the end of the first year of the SPRING project, a project which aims to increase knowledge and awareness of pregnancy loss amongst young people in secondary schools.
