6.5 Particle collisions
There are many examples of good interactive exercises on, and simulations of, collisions on the internet, a selection of which are linked below. This section of Understanding Physics, however, only deals with the two special limiting cases of (i) elastic collisions and (ii) totally inelastic collisions. Thus, at this stage, you should select only values of elasticity of either 1.0 or 0.0. In Understanding Physics situations involving intermediate values of elasticity are not dealt with until Section 8.3.
